Joyce Marie Ferguson

     Joyce Ferguson, age 76 of Sibley, Iowa passed away Sunday, March 19, 2023, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.

     Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley, Iowa with Reverend Tim Nappe officiating.  Burial will follow in the Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley.

     Visitation will be Friday, March 24^th with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran in Sibley.

     Arrangements are in the care of the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley.

     Joyce Marie Ferguson was born on March 14, 1947, in Sibley, IA, the daughter of George “Bud” and Lorraine (Wentler) Grubaugh.  She grew up in Sibley and later graduated from the Sibley High School in 1966.  After graduating she started working for Sibley Egg & Poultry. 

     On September 27, 1974, Joyce was united in marriage to Jerry Ferguson in Sibley, IA.  They made their home in Sibley.  Joyce worked for Campbell Soup Company for a time.  Her hobbies included playing cards, gambling, fishing in her younger years, and going out for supper with her friends.

     Joyce is survived by her stepchildren, Rodney (Chritina) Reese of Miami, FL, Jodee Tousignant of Flower Mound, TX, Shelley (Danny) Clark of Garland, TX, and Karen Reese of Ft. Worth, TX; seven step-grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Theisen of Sibley, IA; special friend, Lena Ruddy of Sibley, IA; nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, George “Bud” and Lorraine Grubaugh; husband, Jerry Ferguson; and four siblings, Donna Tracy, Dolores Prins, Richard Grubaugh, and Roy Grubaugh.
