Larry Lemke

Sibley, Iowa

     Larry Lemke, age 52, of Sibley, Iowa, died on Sunday, June 11, 2023, at his sister’s house in George, Iowa, surrounded by his two loving sisters.

     Visitation with the family present will be Wednesday, June 14, 2023, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley.

     Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, June 15, 2023, at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley with Rev. Steve Swenson officiating.

     Larry's cremated remains will be buried at a later date in Holman Township Cemetery at Sibley.

     Larry Lemke was born June 7, 1971, at Sibley, IA the son of Louis and Carol (Rollins) Lemke.  Larry grew up in Sibley where he attended school and graduated from Sibley-Ocheyedan High School in 1989.  Larry worked for several area businesses in Sibley and for many years he worked at the Sibley-Ocheyedan School District as a custodian.  Larry enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, watching sports, and swimming.  Larry was proud of his daughter and he was proud of himself for accomplishing sobriety.  Larry died this past Sunday afternoon, June 11, 2023, at the age of fifty-two.

     He is survived by his daughter, Courtney Jo Lemke of Marcus, IA; five grandchildren, Nevaeh, Brielle, Zayden and twin granddaughters, Gemma and Lydia Lemke of Marcus, IA; his siblings, Val Van Roekel of George, IA; Steve (Diana) Lemke of Omaha, NE; Beth Alford of Sibley, IA; Carl Lemke of Fort Madison, IA; Tom (Lucinda) Lemke of Sibley and his twin brother, Terry (Crystal) Lemke of Globe, AZ.

     Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Carol; brothers, Mark and Brad; nephew, Cory and niece, Nikki.
