     Larry Peterson age 77 of Sheldon, IA died Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at his residence in Sheldon.

     Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 11, 2022, at the Apostolic Christian Faith Church of Rock Rapids, IA.

     Visitation will be Friday, June 10, 2022, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Jurrens Funeral Home of Rock Rapids.

     Larry Peterson was born to Hazel (Nessan) and Severin Peterson on July 8, 1944. He grew up in Renner, SD. At age 17 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served 6 years and was honorably discharged as an E-5 Hospital Corpsman. Larry was united in marriage to Emily Evans on October 25, 1968, at The Church of the Brethren in Sheldon, IA. He then went to the University of South Dakota and graduated in 1970, with his Registered Nursing Degree. He worked for numerous years for the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD and Hot Springs, SD. After moving to Steen, MN in 1992, Larry and Emily found their faith and repented their sins and were welcomed into the Apostolic Church where they were accepted as family.

     Larry enjoyed his time spent in Kalona, IA, where he was a driver for the Amish Community and became friends with many families.  

     Above all his hobbies and interests his first love was to God, his beloved wife, Emily, his children and grandchildren and his loving church family.

     He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Emily Peterson of Sheldon, IA; three children, Scotty Peterson of Corvallis, OR, Karin Evans of Sheldon, IA, and Andrew Peterson of Sheldon, IA; four grandchildren, Zachary, Lillian, Alexander and Kai.

     He was preceded in death by parents, Hazel and Serverin Peterson; and his parents-in-law, Clarence and Rhelma Evans.
