Patricia Ann Becker was born on June 25, 1941, in Yankton, SD, the daughter of Leo T. and Helen E. (Klasna) Stekly.  She grew up in Tyndall, SD and later graduated from Tyndall High School in 1959.

On March 19, 1960, she was united in marriage to Norman Becker in Tyndall, SD.  They made their homes in Corsica, SD, Creighton, NE, Estherville, IA, Worthington, MN, and on acreages near Bigelow, MN, where they raised their four children, Sherry, David, Sandra, and Daniel, and in Sibley, IA.

Pat was a very good homemaker.  She did a wonderful job of raising our four children and was always home when the children came home from school.  This was very important for the four children. Pat taught herself to play the piano.  She liked playing the piano and organ at church.  She was a secretary for a short time at First Baptist in Sibley, IA. She worked at Atlas in Sibley, IA and cherished the opportunity to pray with and for the people.  Pat and Norm enjoyed several winters volunteering with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Orlando, FL.  A number one priority in the summer was going camping at Cutty’s and going to the Okoboji Bible Conference for ten days, which was very special in Pat and Norm’s life. It was sad that in her last years she endured so much pain, lost her ability to see, and couldn't read anymore.  She also had a hard time walking without falling. She is so much better off today with the Lord with new eyesight and no trouble walking!  One of her favorite phrases was “Keep looking up!”.

A number of years ago, Norm gave Pat a plaque that expressed his feelings for her with the following words:  “This award is presented to Pat Becker for all the things she has done over the last 45 years to make me a better person and a better teacher.  Just to mention the many tests and letters she typed during the first 16 years of my teaching career and the 6,000 lunches she packed for me in 34 years of teaching.  Thank you so much!  I love you.  Norm Becker May 5, 2004”.

Patricia was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sibley, IA.  She participated in many Bible studies and spent countless hours journaling the things she learned from the Bible.  She was a prayer warrior who spent time talking to God about family and friends.  She enjoyed camping, and especially spending time with her family.

Patricia is survived by her husband of sixty-four years, Norman Becker of Sibley, IA; four children, Sherry (Bart) DeBoer of Lake Park, IA, David (Denette) Becker of Pierre, SD, Sandy (Kelly) Doeden of Sibley, IA, and Dan (Emily) Becker of Watertown, MN; fourteen grandchildren, Ashley (Chad) Hibma, BJ (Erin) DeBoer, Taylor (LaTora) Becker, Tanna Becker (fiancé - Alex Waldner), Kaylee Becker, Frank Becker, Vick Becker, Trista (Derek) Hackett, Tanner (Heather) Doeden, Thomas Doeden (fiancé - Leah Bunkers), Trevor Doeden (Emily Schutte), Brooks Becker, Dominic Becker, and Maura Becker; thirteen great-grandchildren, Carter, Addison, Chase, and Avery Hibma, Maleah, Kennen, and Aftyn Becker, Boyd, Thea, and Kason Hackett; Wyatt and Tucker Doeden, Harlan Doeden; sister-in-law Teressa Stekly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Helen Stekly: and brother Leonard Stekly.
