Paul Richard Hunt

      Paul Hunt age 73 of Rock Rapids, Iowa passed away Friday, December 17, 2021, at the Avera Merrill Pioneer Hospital in Rock Rapids.

     Funeral services will be 11 AM Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at Faith Baptist Church in Rock Rapids, Iowa, with Reverend Jeff Poppinga officiating.

     Burial will follow in the Riverview Cemetery in Rock Rapids.

     Visitation will be from 9-11AM on Tuesday at the Church.

     Paul Richard Hunt was born on August 14, 1948, in Rock Rapids, Iowa to parents Ernest and Avis (Sands) Hunt. Paul was involved in a tragic accident at the age of seven where he and his brother were hit by a car that left Paul in the hospital for over a month and left him with some permanent disabilities. Despite the accident he was a proud graduate of Central Lyon High School in Rock Rapids. 

     He worked for Arnold and Gayla Tiedeman of Hull for several years until going to work for Denny’s Sanitation as a box crusher and baler in the recycling plant. He loved going to the elevator where he would have coffee and visit with his friends there. Paul enjoyed attending Faith Baptist Church and spending time with his church family. Paul enjoyed solving "Word Find" puzzles in his spare time.

       Paul is survived by his sister Donna Maurer of Joplin, Missouri; his brother Gary (Karen) Hunt of Rock Rapids, Iowa; a sister-in-law Mary Hunt of Corpus Christi, Texas; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother Robert and his brother Donald.
