     Timothy “Tim” Christiansen age 71 of Ashton, IA died Friday, September 9, 2022, at Osceola Regional Health Center in Sibley, IA.

     Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at the Ashton Bible Church in Ashton, IA, with Pastor Dan Kunnari officiating.

     Visitation will be Monday, September 12^th with family present from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Ashton Bible Church in Ashton, IA.

     Timothy James Christiansen was born on March 23, 1951, in Storm Lake, IA, the son of William and Joanne (Larsen) Christiansen. He grew up in Newell, IA and later graduated from Newell High School in 1969. He then went on to LeTourneau University for an English Degree and then Buena Vista College for a Business Degree.

     On August 3, 1974, Tim was united in marriage to Sue Johnson at the Bethel Baptist Church in Newell, IA. Together they raised two children, Ona and Ami.

   Tim farmed and worked for several different places throughout his life such as, NWIC as a Grain Merchandiser, Poet as a grain buyer and then after retiring he worked as a Librarian at the Ashton Public Library.

     He was a member of the Ashton Bible Church, was involved with a Ham Radio Club in the area and was a member of the National Rifleman’s Association. Tim enjoyed music, reading books, woodworking, horses, hunting, fishing, cooking, grilling brats, collecting records and was a master gardener. He loved family get-togethers and especially spending time with his grandkids.

     Tim is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Sue Christiansen of Ashton, IA; two daughters, Ona (Jeff) Johnson of Guernsey, WY and Ami Steffen of Ashton, IA; five grandchildren, Kara (Jared) and Kayla, Alyssa (Pat), Ashley (Rick) and Austin; five great-grandchildren, Addisyn, Mia, Ella, Lydia and Aryn; four siblings, Nancy Johnson, Mary Jo Busse, Dwight (Jeanine) Christiansen and Karla (Tim) Hall; nieces, nephews, other extended family; and his three feathered friends, Tobias, Sonny and Pearle.

     He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, his parents, Bill, and Joanne Christiansen; father-in-law, Marvin Johnson; and brother-in-law, Bill Johnson.
