Jerry Jurrens, a native of George, IA, came to work for Rich Roste in 1996 after receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in mortuary science from the University of Minnesota. Jerry also holds a B.S. in economics from South Dakota State University.
In 2005, after nine years as a funeral director with the Rostes, Jerry and his wife Amy purchased six funeral homes from the Rostes. In 2011, they purchased Bolin Funeral Service from John and Joyce Bolin to add the Little Rock location.
Jerry and Amy live in George with their two children: a son, Conner, and a daughter, Lauren.
Brian Jensen, a resident of Rock Rapids, moved from Waseca, MN, and began serving families at our funeral homes in 2003. He is a native of Estherville, IA, and his wife Jessica is a native of Emmetsburg, IA. Brian and Jessica have three children: a son, Nolan, and two daughters, Tatum and Lainee.
Brad Jensen graduated from the Worsham School of Mortuary Science in Wheeling, IL, with a Mortuary Science Degree in 1993. He served his apprenticeship in the Chicago area with M. J. Suerth Funeral Home, where he stayed on as a licensed funeral director until 1996. He then relocated to Wells, MN, and continued his career as a funeral director for nine years at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home before moving to Sibley in 2005.
Brad, a native of Estherville, IA, and his wife Janelle, a native of Spirit Lake, IA, have two children: a son, Alec, and a daughter, Jadyn.
Angela Selzer, a native of Melvin, IA, graduated from the Des Moines Area Community College Mortuary program in 2013.
Angela apprenticed with Jurrens Funeral Homes during her mortuary program studies and has now joined the staff as a full-time funeral director. She, her husband Brandon, and their four children make their home in Melvin.
Brett Jacobsen, a George High School Alum, continued his education at Dakota State University in Madison, SD, and later at the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service in Dallas, TX, where he graduated with honors as the salutatorian.
His career in funeral service has led him to serve in several different communities in the south and upper Midwest. Most recently, he was Executive Director of Brown Wilbert a funeral supply company and headed up Jacobsen Consulting, where he helped improve the quality and service of existing family firms.
He is very excited about serving families in smaller communities where people are generally more down to earth and have a strong faith. Brett has made his home in Sioux Center with his childhood sweetheart and bride, Jan (Hall), also a George native.
In his free time, Brett enjoys golf, biking, jogging, fishing, and going to movies with his daughters, Jessica and Jennifer. His 6-year-old granddaughter Sophia is the apple of his eye and gets anything she wants from Grandpa and Grandma "Jake." Brett and Jan are miniature dachshund enthusiasts and have three: Boudin, Bella, and Noni!
Brett has been active in Kiwanis, serving as President of his local clubs three times and Lieutenant Governor of Minnesota and the Dakotas Division 16. He is very involved in a Prison Ministry called REC (Residents Encounter Christ) and has been for much of the past 26 years.
